Corneal Disease
Bullous keratopathy - The endothelium no longer pumps fluids out of the tissue which results in permanent swelling of the cornea.
Fuchs’ endothelial dystrophy – is hereditary. The cornea swells and becomes cloudy due to an aberration in the cornea, thus decreasing vision.
Keratoconus – a cone shaped distortion appears with gradual progression, usually in both eyes. This weakens the cornea.
Your doctor checks for corneal disease using advanced diagnostic technology. If any corneal disease is found, it should be treated soon. |
