Endoscopic CycloPhotocoagulation (ECP) is used to manage the over production of fluid in the eye.  Too much fluid causes increased intra-ocular pressure or glaucoma.  The procedure is used frequently in the management of open-angle glaucoma to treat the ciliary body of the eye which is present around the circumference of the eye.  It can only be done after a cataract has been removed.

During the procedure, your ophthalmologist can view the area through an endoscopic camera, which allows exact placement of the laser used for treatment.

This is an out-patient procedure which is performed in your ophthalmologist’s surgery center.  It is so effective that many times patients’ glaucoma medication can be reduced or eliminated altogether.
