Experienced Surgeons 

The board-certified surgeons at Cape Coral Eye Center, Dr. Benjamin Martin and Dr. Farrell C. Tyson are among the most experienced and well-trained in the country. Together they have performed thousands of surgical and laser procedures. Dr. Tyson has been invited to teach courses at major national and international meetings of ophthalmologists in such prestigous places such as the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Turkish Glaucoma Congress in Izmir, the Russian National Ophthalmology Congress in Moscow, the Pan African American Congress of Ophthalmology in Dubai, the European Societies of Cataract and Refractive Surgery in London and Lisbon, the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons in Barcelona, Spain, and most recently at the International Ophthalmic Symposium of Dhahran Eye Specialist Hospital (DESH) 2009 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

In addition to cataract and glaucoma surgery, Dr. Tyson is fellowship trained and has completed extensive training in laser vision correction.  His expertise and experience with laser vision correction dates back to his involvement in the research of the Excimer laser prior to its approval by the FDA.

Dedicated Eye Surgery and Laser Center

The Eye Surgery and Laser Center at Cape Coral Eye Center is the only ambulatory surgery center in Cape Coral.  This means you won’t have to go to the hospital to have surgery! The Eye Surgery and Laser Center has been awarded the certificate of accreditation by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care, Inc. AAAHC). This award means that the Eye Surgery and Laser Center has met nationally recognized standards for quality care.  In order to achieve this accreditation, the Eye Surgery and Laser Center underwent an extensive on-site survey of its facilities and services.  The survey team, composed of physicians, nurses and administrators evaluated all aspects of patient care.
