Dr. Benjamin Martin is one of the most experienced eye surgeons in the area, having performed thousands of successful lens replacement surgeries since he founded the Cape Coral Eye Center in February 1980. Dr. Martin specializes in glaucoma treatment having treated glaucoma patients for over 30 years.
Dr. Martin's education includes a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Louisville. He completed medical school at the University of Southern California, a Rotating Internship at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, and an Ophthalmology Residency at the Wilford Hall Medical Center at San Antonio, where he served as Chief Resident. Dr. Martin has served as Chief of Ophthalmology & Surgical Services at MacDill Air Force Base and as Flight Surgeon at PhuCat Air Base in Vietnam. Dr. Martin retired from the Air Force with the rank of Colonel.

In addition, Dr. Martin has served as Assistant Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of South Florida.
As part of their commitment to service, Dr. Martin, his wife, children and other members of the Cape Coral Eye Center staff have volunteered their time and talents, both as eye clinicians and teachers, to medical missions around the world including Mexico, Panama, Honduras, Africa, Russia and China.
