Cape Coral Florida Optical Shop

Our Cape Coral Optical Shops have been voted the "Best of Southwest Florida:  Best Optical Vision Centers," for the past nine years!

We have six locations to serve you. At each location, we have a full Optical Shop with a wide variety of eye glasses frames and sunglasses. Our opticians and optical consultants are very knowledgeable and will provide you with all the information necessary to help you in your eyeglass and lens selection.

Cape Coral Florida Eye GlassesOur designer frames include Korloff frames. These frames are made of titanium and high-quality lightweight hypoallergenic alloys, and have a modern design. First, a frame is plated with a layer of palladium, then with two layers of white or yellow 24-carat gold. The coating has a thickness of 5 microns. All the frames are hand-painted with special lacquer that protects the frame surface from corrosion and damage. The frames are 80% assembled by hand, and each frame has its own identification number.

We carry TAG Heuer sports vision glasses.

Cape Coral SunglassesTAG Heuer is internationally known for impeccable sports watches.  Click on the picture to be linked to the TAG Heuer website. Cape Coral Eye Center is the only optical in Cape Coral and North Fort Myers that offer this fine collection.  The frames are made from a combination of aluminum, magnesium, and titanium, which is twice as light as pure titanium.  They are very durable, anti-corrosive, and have no screws in the design.  All the lenses are polycarbonate, have multi-layer scratch resistance, and contain 100% filter for UV A,B, and C.  Some of these frames can be customized to your prescription--just check with your optician or optical consultant to verify which frames will work for you.

Your optician or optical consultant will explain all of your lens options to you so you can make the best choice. If you click on some of the photos, you will be linked to websites for more information on these lens options.

Some of these options include:

          ~  Crizal Coatings

          ~  Transition Comfort Tints

          ~  Progressive Addition Lenses (PAL's) (No-line bifocals)

          ~  Polycarbonate Lens Material

          ~  Hi Index Lens Materials

          ~  Polarized Sunglass Lenses

          ~  Scratch resistant coating TD2

          ~  Ultra-violet Filter (UV)

Crizal Coatings:

Cape Coral Eye Glasses

A new anti-reflective that combines anti-reflective coating and scratch resistance into one coating that greatly increases light transmittance. Crizal lenses allow up to 99% of light to transmit through the lens providing increased visual clarity.  This helps reduce eye strain, reduce halos from on-coming headlights, and allows for a more cosmetically appealing lens by reducing reflections on the front. This lens has an unmatched two-year scratch warranty. Should your lenses become scratched during normal wear we will replace them at no charge to you. (This does not include loss of frame and/or lenses.)

Transitions:

New and improved lenses that are photochromic, changing from light to dark as you move between indoors and outdoors. These newer generation lenses change more quickly in the sun (in about 30 seconds) and get lighter indoors than the older generation lenses. These lenses contain a UV filter which provides up to 99% protection from UV.

Transitions aren't designed to replace your prescription sunwear, but to act as a compliment to it. You should consider it a comfort tint for your primary eyewear.

Progressive Addition Lenses (PAL's) (a/k/a "No-line bifocals"):

These lenses eliminate those annoying bifocal lines and improve your range of vision for distance, near and everything in between. We carry Varilux progressives--the ultimate in quality and comfort. You deserve the best lens available, and at Cape Coral Eye Center, we offer you that!

 Polycarbonate lenses:

Shatter resistant, lighter weight, thinner lenses that are a great choice for active lifestyles and children. We put all children under eighteen in these safer, more durable lenses. Polycarbonate also has UV protection within the lens. We use the most advanced and highly optically correct polycarbonates: Airwear.

Below are pictures of a baseball making impact with various lenses. The first lens is made of glass, the second is a plastic lens, and the third is a polycarbonate lens.

High-lndex:

Our patients always want thinner and lighter lenses.  That is why we offer Essilors Thin & Lite 1.67 high index lenses.  High index allows for better peripheral optics, e.g., less distortion.  It also has a better cosmetic appearance of a thinner profile and less magnification in plus power lenses.  These lenses come in a large range of lens designs from single vision to our premier progressive, the Varilux Ipseo.  Thin & Light is ideal for rimless and semi-rimless frames with its high tensile strength and durability

Polarized:

The ultimate lens in sunwear. It reduces the glare and harmful rays from the sun. It is a great choice for those on the water and outdoors.

Scratch resistant coating (TD2):

A coating that protects your lenses and reduces scratches to prolong the life of the lens. It resists scratches, but isn't scratch-proof. We offer a one-year, one-time scratch warranty against scratches if you purchase this coating.  However, if you purchase Crizal, you receive a two-year, anytime warranty. (This does not include loss of frames or lenses.)

Ultraviolet (UV) Protection:

This invisible coating protects your eyes from the harmful UV A/B rays of the sun. We recommend that all patients wear lenses with a UV protection of 95% or more while outdoors or doing computer work. The most important function of sunglasses is to protect against UV damage, but simply choosing sunglasses with dark lenses will not have any bearing on its UV protection. In fact, some extremely dark sunglasses that do not filter UV can be harmful to your eyes. Because they are so dark, the pupils open wider and allow more UV rays to enter the eye than would if no sunglasses were worn. This can cause benign growths on the eye's surface, cancer of the eyelids and skin around the eyes, and retinal problems.

Insurance Plans:

The Optical Shops accept many different insurance plans for frames, lenses, and contact lenses.  We have a large selection of frames that many insurance plans cover fully in each office.  Each plan has different optical coverage, but your educated and knowledgeable optician will be happy to explain your individual optical benefits.
