Nearsightedness (Myopia)

Two cornea conditions can cause
myopia: the cornea is curved too much,
or the eye is too long. Myopia is
usually discovered in children during school eye examinations, and worsens over
time until the child reaches adulthood.
Heredity is the main cause of myopia.
Treatments for myopia are usually
eyeglasses or contact lenses. However,
surgical vision corrections can also reduce or eliminate myopia.
